FINRA Expands Arbitration Program Testing
October 6, 2009 by Don · Leave a Comment
The arbitration panel has always been under the gun from investor advocates over the fairness of the panel. The main contention with the arbitration panel is that they are mainly comprised of industry professionals. These professionals generally include arbitrators from FINRA member firms and other FINRA personnel. In October 2008, FINRA launched a new arbitration pilot program allowing 276 cases to be heard in an all public panel. For 2009, FINRA is allowing 411 cases to be heard under this new program to further test the program’s success. www.onwallstreet.com/news/finra-expands-pilot-arbitration-program-2664147-1.html
